This synergistic blend of herbs in this formula may be beneficial in soothing, nourishing, and protecting the mucous membranes in the stomach and in the gut lining. Traditional ulcer medications suppress stomach acid which helps to alleviate symptoms but does nothing to fix the problem. Suppression of stomach acid can lead to other gastrointestinal issues. Stomach acid helps to break down food and prevents parasites and bacteria from being able to reach the small intestine by killing them.

This formula is rich in mucopolysaccharides which creates a protective slime barrier coating the stomach and small intestines protecting them from the damaging effects of stomach acid. Additionally, the herbs in this formula may reduce inflammation and help to rebuild the tissues in the stomach and small intestine so they can function optimally.

Often the cause of ulcers in horses is stress such as moving to a new location, lots of trailer travel, not eating often enough, competition etc. It is important to address the cause of the stress in addition to repairing the damaged tissues so the ulcer does not continually return.

Kelp (Ascophyllum nodosum)

• Provides vitamins and trace minerals essential for repairing and strengthening the gut lining
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita)
• Helps dispel gas and reduce bloating

Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra)

DOSING GENERAL GUIDELINES

MINI HORSES – 1-2 TSP 2X/DAY
PONIES – 2-3 TSP 2X/DAY
HORSES (800-1100 LBS) – 1-3 TBSP 2X/DAY
HORSES (>1100 LBS) – 2-3 TBSP 2X/DAY

DOSE MATTERS

If you do not notice change in your horses symptom do not hesitate to increase the dose. All horses respond differently to herbs. Some are very sensitive and require a smaller dose but some are not as sensitive or are much bigger in size and need bigger dose. Before you decide the formula doesn't work try increasing the dose.

LOADING DOSE

You may choose to start with a loading dose which would be doing a double dose for the first 1-2 weeks so that the herbs can accumulate in the system and start taking effect faster. Depending on the severity of the condition you may stay at the loading dose for longer. Reduce to a maintenance dose after symptoms become well managed.

FREQUENCY MATTERS

The more often you can administer the supplement the better it will work. Administering two times/day is ideal. One time per day could still be helpful but the supplement's effects wear off after about 6-8 hours. If feeding more than one time per day is not an option, double up on the dose.

PICKY EATERS

If your horse refuses the herbs or you know they are picky eaters start with a smaller dose and work your way up to the full dosage over 1-2 weeks. For example you may start with 1⁄4 or even 1/8th of a scoop and increase the dose daily until you reach full dose. This way your horse can adjust to the taste over time.

TIME DELAY

Some formulas such as Chill out Dude you will notice a change in 30-60 minutes but all the other formulas take time before you will notice results. Expect to see some initial changes in 2-4 weeks. After 2-3 months you will see the full potential of what the herbs can do.

Picky eater approved!

Nice blend, my horse snubs his nose at lots of things but not the stomach soother. Mixed this with aloe and he loved it.

Amazing results and horse loves it!

After a month of omeprazole and sucralfate, with no real improvement, decided to give this a try. Only 2 days on the Stomach Soother and I noticed a big difference in my mare’s demeanor and could tell she felt better! She loves the taste as well. Thank you for a great product!

Horse likes it

Smells great. Apparently it tastes great too as my horse gobbles up his feed now. I can't say how it's working other than that. I've used some of the ingredients myself before and they're quite effective so I'm assuming it's going to help. My only complaint - it's pricey. Overall it seems like a good product.

LOVE!! A must have on my shelf.

Stomach Soother has been an absolute wonder for many of my horses! Two of my horses were diagnosed with ulcers - one shortly after I purchased and the other shortly after an accident while boarding with a trainer. Both horses showed rapid improvement within just a few days of feeding and were ulcer free within 4-6 weeks! Best part, unlike other ulcer "treatments", these horses BOTH were able to stop taking stomach soother after 2-3 months WITHOUT REOCCURANCE OF ULCERS!!! I have also used it for emaciated rescue horses and post colic horses with great success. Even my dog has benefitted from stomach soother after finding a "tasty treat" that soured his stomach. Truly cannot say enough wonderful things about stomach soother!!!

It is hard to know if the herbs are helping or not. I can tell you that my filly eats the stomach soother in her supplements without complaints. I like to feed plants to my horses as that is what they eat in nature, so this fits the bill for that.
